Install checklist

• Install Steam. The demo is a Steam app. You need a Steam client on Windows before the download will start.
• Open the free demo. Search Find The Needle Demo or open app 5165210. Confirm the publisher reads Hay Passionates and the developer reads FindTheNeedleDev.
• Start in the warehouse. Boot the demo, face the pile, and keep the metal detector in hand until you can sell hay. Vulkan 1.3 on a dedicated GPU is required.

Steam first, itch as a signpost

The official storefront for the factory is the Steam app page. The playable SKU is Find The Needle Demo. Steam's demo payload copies the same short description as the parent: about six million strands, sell hay, buy belts and machines. Wishlist the parent if you want the Q4 2026 full game notice; the demo does not sell that SKU.

itch.io still exists at findtheneedle.itch.io/find-the-needle and still shows an older five-million-strand Open Graph line. The live button on that page redirects play to Steam. Do not hunt for a standalone itch build. Hardmaniacos and other listings that mention a YouTuber drop are pointing at this same Steam demo, not a second executable.

Family Sharing is on the store categories. Multiplayer is not. There is no Steam achievements object. If a page promises codes, pets, bombs, or gamepasses, it is describing a Roblox needle game, not this warehouse.

If a launcher, key shop, or mobile store offers Find The Needle, walk away unless the URL is store.steampowered.com and the app id is 5165210 or 5160800. Family Sharing is listed. Co-op is not. The demo is how you play today; the parent SKU is still coming soon.

First hour inside the demo

You load into a strange warehouse. The haystack does not end at the visible wall. Steam's about text says you were a farmer, or think you were, and that the doors will not open. The instruction is Find the needles, plural. A metal detector is the starting search tool. Sell hay at the stand, then buy a shovel, a bucket, a wheelbarrow, a pitchfork, or a vacuum before you lock a belt layout. The still beside this section is the pile the demo actually opens on.

Demo V8 landed the day after the Steam demo date, on 11 September 2026, under the author name animatemesh. That patch is the reason F toggles No Snap Mode on conveyors and E on a power pole kills the grid. Vacuum Yard dropped 80 percent in price in the same notes. Read those keys before you rebuild a snaking line.

Demo reviews on Steam were sampled as a score summary plus a short theme list, not a full 183-body dump. Players talk about the pile, the sell loop, and factory sprawl. Treat that as community mood, not a patch list. The parent app had no review corpus when this wiki was researched because it is still coming soon.

Watch the official trailer before you spend an hour in the wrong hay game. Then install, sell one load of hay, and open the V8 notes. That order beats copying a YouTuber layout that predates snap.

Official channels after you install

Bug reports belong on the official Discord, invite MqcvCz8eyG, which resolves to the Find The Needle guild. Steam News repeats the same invite on the milestone posts. Steam Community has a hub for 5160800 that mirrors the news posts. Reddit and TikTok did not produce usable first-party captures, so they are not install instructions. Studio support email on the Steam payload is neuraltrainers@gmail.com. This wiki cannot reset a Steam account or refund a future purchase that does not exist yet.
